 Hypothesis

Research Question:

How learning Environment Influences the Identity Construction of Pakistani Students in Hong Kong? Is there any other possible factor?

Our initial hypothesis of research is that learning environment does shape one's identity construction and possibly enhances one's sense of belonging if he/she is in an assimilated environment that is alike their home country.

We expect our interview results would illustrate that Pakistani students from local school will consider themselves as more of a Hong konger or even a world citizen, and those from Islamic school will see themselves as a Pakistani -- the former because of the fact that they make every effort to integrate into the society by attending local schools and immersing themselves in a "Hong Kong" environment, the latter because they are able to connect to Pakistan and study with Pakistanis, thereby fostering a stronger sense of belonging to their home country.

Nevertheless, we encounter a totally different result...
(We will explain later in Domains Analysis!)
